Gagiyasu, nr. Takakoshi, Henshu slightly
5, w. upper parts 9/10 molted. Molt behind time of M. fusca, + births later.
Births: 1964, 10 Apr. to 25 May. 1965, 20 April stud + 2 still pregnant,
Deepen said. (Fumya has been observing her.) 30 born so far this yr.
Feeding soy beans + wheat. About 75 x 100 yds. slope cut flat; another
100-200 yds. upslope more grown up, + large forested area above. A
clear 10 x 20' pool for monkey play & drinking. Some isolated large
red
walnuts (light green terminal leaves) and persim.
I studied her about
6 years. Clear path some 500' or so. | K.Y. said that when part of a group
caught, rest did not join another gp. (but in P. entellus in India, when
ad. male removed, rest of gp. joined another. | Y. said this year 3 born
lacking finger or toe.

7 July 1965. Student fr. Osaka, Mr. Koyama, will accompany me
to Takagoyama + Kikuzan next week: Yoshida said gps. of about
140 and 80 there, plus 3 unprovivined troops. Toyotokuda
has observed there. Birth season not studied. | Kawai says
97 with info. molt later than other. But no one has parti-
cularly noted or studied molt in M. fuscata. | Fumya apparently
did not notice birth season M. iris or islet (Nogoya Bay)
had become progressively earlier, 1961 to 1965; lumped freq.
indeed year round births w. 2 peaks. Yoshida said M. cyclopis
seasonal births in second islet, Papio year round on third.
8 July 1965. Shopping for eqpt. Nogoya; train to Tokyo afternoon.
9 July 1965. Visited NSF office; still no NSF funds or word of them.
Shopping & office work. also July 10, 11. Azuma + Koyama arr. well.
12 July 1965. NSF office for mail. Departed 11:30 train for Chiba
city + Kazusaminato with Naoki KOYAMA, Osaka grad. student.
