One chimp-like with reddish antlers back - 24 in cage picked finger in own vagina, then licked finger, an infecting blood. Heard Young, driver, said "wild macaques", found near roads, & had heard they were M. assamensis. He said in one area there were "long tailed chasers" monkeys too. He had been 14 years in region, knew local country & hill tribes well, tough jungle survival to troops. Said much destruction occurred through hunting; no gibbons now on Doi Suei, when formerly common, or in area where Carpenter studied (in Chiang Dao?).
