C. Koford 26 Journal 8 September 1965 Entebbe, Uganda Visited Sylvester Rwenga, Game Dept, Entebbe. Saw monkey skins & found my "mangabey" = Colobus badius, & the black monkey w/ brown back & white throat = C. d'haesti. Camped. 9 September 1965. Shopping Kampala. Bought telescope & small tent. Drove N. via Bombo toward Morindi & camped along way. 10 September 1965. To Morindi, & Murchison Falls N.P. Little game compared to Q.E. or Toro Reserve. Very little shade in hot country. Roads rough. Drove on Bulgi track & saw fair numbers mammals. Visited the falls; ok but disappointing. 11 September 1965. Talked with Chief Wiston (?) Wheaton (?) about Peter monkeys. He said that K.R.L. Hall had studied them within a mile or so of headquarters. He sent a boy with me & we walked 1½ hrs. but saw no Peters or other monkeys. Drove to Mos- indii, then W. toward Butula. At mi. 26 fr. Morindi (18 from Butula) talked to forest guard who told me Marler had stayed in rest house about 1 mile to W. | Forest in this area thicker foliaged than Kilole but much cut over, replanted, & variously mixed up. Not as humid compared to Kilole, & far from supplies. Looked at Butula, then drove S. thru Norina & camped. 12 September 1965. Drove on to Kilole Forest & stayed at Selitoli forest station. Pain in afternoon as usual. Sunday. 13 September 1965. Watched Colobus along Samuel road in morning. Pain started 3 p.m. Saw Red colobus green a retail! Saw 2 white infant colobus. 14 September 1965. Obs. along Kagera SM road. Saw Cercocelus
