Caiman Fuscus
August 29, 1956 B.C. Island, C.Z.
In course with family shortly after lunch, looking along shore with headlamp, saw one about 3 ft. long, & another about 18" long. Red eyeshine very bright. Larger allowed approach to 6 ft. before diving.
September 1, 1956. Saw 2 near shore in evening, both about 1 ½ ft. long. One lying near mouth of Luty Creek. Found by eyeshine as before.
September 8, 1956 Fausto Bocanega says he sometimes has seen one about 6 ft. long swimming across area 100 yds. NE dock.
October 7, 1956. In making trip around island saw one about 6 ft. long near Bang's house, and another about 5 feet long in water near Fuentes House.
November 4, 1956. Brought a small one from Panama, taken in Madden Lake area probably, & released it near dock. Clipped second toe of fore & hind foot right side
