C. Koford 5 Trees & Shrubs 22 February 1957 Barro Colorado Is. C. Z. 6" long groups of pink-red flowers. Flowers with 3 petals off about 1 ½" long. On Slothia the Panama tree now in flower & with all new leaves. 26 February 1957 Guayacan (Tabebuia) Bucaramini blossom, + many flowers on ground. Bluish-purple Jacaranda also in bloom near AVA (Triplaris) and JZ trails. Palo Santo in full bloom too. Big tree at AVA 9 has buds, apparently of flowers. A cuipo near WMW 2 has buds too & naked tree. Panama tree on Slothia do. in flower & leaves are new. All space have had new leaves for a few weeks, + have tiny flowers. Pinkish white blossoms atop flattish tree near Benesto House. Some say its "roble." Guayacans near Barbour Trail House have lost nearly all leaves now. 5 March 1957 The Tabebuia back of Benesto House now in full bloom, pale pink. Hoshi 2 ¼ Ehto, photos. Most B. Triplaris now faded. Many of these along W: Bank of canal coming from Isamboua. Guayacans blossamin' ing now apparently over on BC1. One branch of blue Jacaranda over Test Table Bldg. in flower, + same tree in forest. Trails covered with dry leaves. Many small buds on cuipo tree. 9 March 1957 Tabebuia behind Benesto House still in bloom, + some others scattered in forest. Pale pink blossoms. All Guayacan blossoms gone. Blue Jacaranda flowers still promi- nent. 16 March 1957 Big tree at Van Teyre & now leafless. Bristoria superba in blossom, flowers on leafless parts of branches.
