January 10, 1957 Barro Colorado I.S. Canal Zone
buds of miniature flowers. Isulas in leafs, buds very numerous on tree & below on ground. The big Bombocopsis SE of Fireman's House has new leaves coming out (did not flower to my knowledge; lost leaves a few weeks ago). There are 4 of 1952 Lab fully leofed still & has not lost leaves. || The Scheizalblim over Test Table Bldg. starting to get new leaves now. Annona malaccensis below Kitchen has many red flowers. Red Inga still most prominent flower in forest.
January 13, 1957. Big Bombocopsis S. of Fireman's House now fairly covered with new leaves. Solid fresh green 19 Jan.
19 January 1957. Bombay still dropping matter. Few leaves on Nura. Crpout fully covered with fresh leaves. Inga llossans (red) almost gone. No conspicuous shrub or tree flowers,
23 January 1957 Crop. since last Wed. 1.45" from block 4' down, pan.
1 February 1957 100-200 fruits on trees along PRR track Balboa to Frijoles. Large Bombay fruits on Arch'd Br., O, about 8" long. Several aspect of forest top, many bare trees,
22 February 1957 Near Barbour Pt. three bright yellow-flowered tree, perhaps guaycan. Another new across lake near Frijoles. Many Apeiba fruits on tree, as near S M I.
Few "mottas" left on Bombay. Large fruits on are near JZO.
Kapeli-like fuzz from fruits on bolsa next to Chapman House. Red Posiflora in bloom on vine in various parts of forest. Palo santo (?) (= Triplavix), smooth barked slim tree with
