July 7, 1956 B.C. Island, Coral Bay
Almonds in purple blossom now, a tree with many
nut [illegible] seized red fruits 75 yds. NW of New Lob has
much use by persimmon, Gordypruckin, Quercus, & other
woods. Many wofy fruits on ground. I collected some.
Bollos Bolos 50' S. of Chapman house blooming, & res-
idents (Rottenmeys) says her bloomed since January. Carl
Rottenmeyer says almonds at whale 4.4 in fruit about end
of march (le can-tayo & pecanias thin).
July 24, 1956. Today Walter Lindsay, Agronomist of Bollos,
visited & identified many tree forms. I tagged about 20
on Snider Melvins trail with numbers (on copper). Probably the
largest trees here are Cido rather than Bombacopsis. The
propandule tree W. of New Lob probably Bombay Barrigon. The
large tree 100 yds. E. of Old Lob & largest tree on island probably Cido
Santanderia (species or trunks), kopah tree.
September 1, 1956. Many fruits of "markey plum" in ground
on Doroto. Large seed, 1" avoid, orange, taste like loquat.
Or skin & outer parts eaten on most fallen area. All almonds
blossoms gone. Nother in conspicuous blossom.
September 18, 1956 Jacaranda over Kodak Bldg. shedding
seeds from pods. Rare blossoms remaining on almond tree.
Heliconia of several kinds in bloom.
October 2, 1956. A red flower like divi-divi bunches of
feicorless now-persistent on a few leaved shrub about
15' tall on Luty (near 1) and AMA 100yds. from tower.
Malay apple near pump house now has red flowers.
October 23, 1956. Malay apple flowers nearly gone. The
