Zarhynchus wagleri
3 April 1957 (a before) Barro Colorado Is. C.Z.
Oropendola nests over Kodak Test Table Bldg., apparently
[illegible]. Two fell down. These had circular hole 2"
diam. low on side. Dry grass nests but no eggs in
sides, nor shells. The boys say possums or snakes
got the birds. Two nests pulled up over branches of tree.
20 April 20 April 1957. Only 14 nests still hanging. Saw
2 Oropendolas near nests but they did not seem enter.
16 March 1957 P.G. Howes notes. Over Test Table
Bldg., or or 99 spend long periods close together, 9 9
matesider, or or with bills pointed skyward & matesides
for long period follows by bending over shuddering and "ex-
ploding."
20 March 1957 One nest broke loose, hanging upside down
from adjacent nest on bottom corner.
21 March 1957 A finished appearing nest in the rear
AVA6.
30 April 1957 Only 4 nests still hanging over Test Table
Bldg.
4 May 1957 One of those nests (toward kitchen) may hold bird incubat-
ing, as one seen to leave it.
1 June 1957 No activity at nests near Test Table Bldg. Heard
of several twins near AVA8.
