Barro Colorado Is, Canal Zone
Notes of Paul D. Naus. Found nest with 2 white eggs. Nest
ball-like, of tendrils, moss, rootlets, dead leaves, suspended
by a stem of rootlets under overhanging branch of Allee Creek in
very dark spot, directly beside clear pool. Nest 3½' above creek.
Overall length 20". Entrance hole 1¾" diam.; could see birds'
fasc in.
27 February 1957 P.D.N. notes. 3 eggs in nest. Bird
flushed; rapidly flipped wings & tail every few sec.
16 March 1957 P.G.H. Eggs still unhatched
18 March 1957 P.G.H. Nest found pulled down, torn apart,
left in water. No sign birds or eggshells (looted?);
