21 April 1957
Toward here with tail high & chin near perch, star quarter toward NW & left. Showed there to Bill Kasan, photographer, but he took no photos. Aboard about 9 a.m. About 3:30 I returned to site and saw 2 displaying in area.
27 April 1957 M.T.B.I saw 2 or 7 10" apart. One maddled quartering toward other, which retreated. About 4-4 a.s. in 100' distance along trail. Still courting & displaying,
31 January 1957 P.G. (Hines) notes. 3 sneaking; buzzing, dancing, & seeing special perches near T.B.I.
Later or fourth board.
15 March 1957 all P.G. H. notes. all 4 still displaying.
21 March 1957 P.G. H. notes. Saw one of near SM 4, displaying (CBK also saw a few times here).
7 May 1957 I saw two 20 yards apart near T.B.I, males, on open perches 15 ft. ups. Due heard & saw them buzzing the upstitched wings, saw two males in "dance" on same kind.
She says they call a high short note at two followed by a long note, possibly sliding downward and/or diminishing.
28 May 1957 Dues K. saw & heard them, at least 3, near T.B.I at same site as before.
