Koford Cotingidae Quercula porpurata July 10, 1956 Three seen in tall tree 50 yds. W. of New Lab. Eugene Cessmann thought probably nesting nearby. I saw one in watery red fruits tree 50 yds. N.E. of this tall tree. November 6, 1956. Rarely seen near New Lab last month or more. Today two, one red throated & other not, seen on SM about 4 (near strangler fig), 20 ft. up. Pair? December 1 (about), 1956. Saw 2, calling much, on AVA near Big Trees (AVA 6?). December 29, 1956. At AVA 7 saw 2 in Cecropia, feeding, apparently a fruit of flower. A Phloeocester melangulucus higher in same tree. Both men Caluatta Brand. January 5, 1957. Two calling at SM 6, at least 1 ot. 19 January 1957 Two calling near pineapple thicket 30 yds. E. of AVA 9, & seen. Apparently joy - like squawk and a pleasant whistling call. 13 February 1957 Some rain in night, & many calling about 8 a.m. after cleared. Arthur Fast saw one leave a nest high in foliated tree W. of 1952 Lab about 8:45 a.m. Later he saw several visits, as if adult feeding young. All visits apparently lay-the ot (deep purple throat). Mrs. Fast saw visits at 9:03, 9:09, 9:13, 9:25 She to tree into nest sudden or came. 9:27 ot to nest + star stayed 3 1/2 min. On edge as if looking in. None lay 10:00 who saw sun, nor any lay 11:30 a.m. 1:45 to 3:45 more came, Building nest? || During next few days Mr. Fast watched but never came at nest some more 14 February 1957 Fast arrived 8:01 and saw one land (??)
