c. Koford 1957 2 Tinamus major 7 May 1957 Barro Colorado Is., C.Z. at 11 a.m. one flew away from near tree 20' from Davato trail about 4:7. Then another left the spot, running in low-squirming fashion. At base of tree between buttresses was a single greenish-blue egg almost hidden by dry leaves. No nest structure. About 2:20 p.m. I returned & photographed the site. Saw no tinamous, but 6' from nest was a snake about 6 feet long. (Body mostly black with yellow areas. Ventrally bright yellow including head. Head pointed, d.v.: flat, black above, yellow below.)
