October 24, 1956 Barro Colorado Is., C.Z.
Heard calling 6:25 a.m., & at 5:55 last evening from Chapman House.
November 13, 1956 In area NE of Plantation Point, first evening calls heard 5:45 p.m. Nearly always heard in evening in area 100 yds. SW of Chapman House.
November 27, 1956 About 4 p.m. saw one walking up slope about 50 yds. into forest SSE of Chapman House.
November 28, 1956 Heard me about 50 yds. S of SM 1/2 in evening, another perhaps 1/4 mi. N of it. Saw one on trail near wheelin 15 about 11:15 a.m.
December 11, 1956 In vicinity 525 heard several Tinamus during our cast day. Usually near Sol heard only 5:45 to 6 p.m. and about 6:30 a.m.
January 4, 1957 Heard at 2 p.m. in forest N of mouth of Allie Creek. At night heard calling at 10 p.m. (also previous eve) from Chapman House. (Also heard 1 a.m. Jan 5).
January 5, 1957 Saw 1 walk across trail at AVA 5 11 a.m.
23 March 1957 Ricky Hartmann brought in two brown-blue eggs. These he found close to base of tree, between butternut T B 3 (about 50 yds. N of fig tree). Apparently no nest structure. Teeth or claw marks penetrated eggs from outside. Apparently fresh eggs destroyed by someone.
27 March 1957 Last night I heard calling at least 4 separate times near clearing to the N & S of Chapman House.
20 April 1957 Flushed one from ground next to creek bed at AH Corner 2.
