C. Koford 1957 Pteronotus suarensis S. 2 May 1957 Chilibrillo Caves Panama about 20' above level of creek bed in cave, in a side chamber, the ceiling was thick with 300 (or 1000) of these, tight packed, some red furred and some dull brown. I shot a dozen with one shot shell of .22 caliber. Put up some specimens, C. Handley (U.S.N.M.) did others. When light shined on groups they swayed back & forth, wave like, over squealing. I collected a few flies from specimens for Ernestine Thurman (Univ. Md.). Specimens 1943, 1944, 1945, 1953.
