Glossophaga soricina
5 April 1957 Ft. San Lorenzo Cnal Zone
In 8x8' fairly dark room of fort I saw 2 hanging from ceiling & captured one (071923). Room had one doorway & a small window. In sea cave at foot cliffs at NW side found 50+, many carrying large juvenes.
One juv. 6 grms., forearm 35 1/2, well formed body; 07,
One juv. 2 grms., forearm 2 1/4, half formed body.
Ad. ♀ 10 grms., lactating, mps florid 3 wide x 2 1/4 high;
with expressed?
Ad. ♀ 10 grms., forearm 35 1/2; mps slight projm., 2 1/2
wide x 1 1/4 high, vag. slightly projm.; 0 embryos
but one ovary had enlarged bloodvessels.
Ad. ♀ 16 grms., 1 emb. C-R 27 (weighing 3.3 grms,
forearm (8) = ♀ 1924CBK ↑ [auto number]

Ad. ♂ 10 grms., forearm 35 1/2, testis 4 1/2 x 4,
scrotal segment = ♂ 1925CBK
Carollia perspicillata 3x as numerous in this
cave, also breeding.
1 May 1957 Many imm. in two horizontal metal pipes 10' diam. tunnels at Core Drilling warehouse, but only about
1/10 of Carollia population. Data on captured:
♀ Imm. frm. 37, 10 grms.
♂ Imm. frm. 36, 10 grms, testis 2 mm.
♀ Imm. frm. 35, 7 1/2 grs.
♀ Imm. frm. 36, 9 grs.
♀ Imm. frm. 34, 7grms.
Probably adults too active for capture, these taken
hanging overhead or sides of O tunnel.
