C. Koford Carollia perspicillata 5 April 1957 Ft. San Lorenzo Canal Zone 200a+. Cave went in perhaps 100'. I went in 50'. Walls about 10'-8' across at bottom, 7' to ceiling. Bats in irregular bunches in wide crotch in celing. Limestone (?) stalactites stobctites on some walls. Wet floor, often muddy. (I found a Natsalu and 50+ blossophaga in same cave). Some C.p. imm., so many pregnant ff, some o7 o7. I captured 1 large jwr., 9 ff, and 3 o7 o7. Jwr. f 8gms.-forearm 31 mm.-well furred. f 17gm - fore. 42'1/2 - lactating - nipple 2'1/2 long x 2wide, with spheroid ; l. ovary 2'1/2x1'1/2 Imm. f 18gms. (gray fur) - fore. 42'1/2- nipples <1/2 mm. ad. f 24gm., f. 42'1/2-nip. 2'1/2 wide x1, black tip ; valva mod. pigm. 1 emb. c-R 2-7 (both segments & finely haired. ad. f 24 gm., f. 44'1/2 - nip, 2'1/2wide x1, block- 1 emb. c-R 2-7 (dark hair follicles look somewhat ad. f 22gm., f. 42 - uterus elong. (12 mm. bladder dust to tip lead, dark red; nipples 7 wide x3, black, flaccid; lactating. Vulva slight pigm. ad. f 28 gm., f. 42'1/2 - nip. 2'1/2 wide, turgid, block, naked around ; 1 emb. c-R 31 (6 gms. w/o membrane + placenta, wet), well haired. ad. f 28 gm., f. 44 - nip. 2 '1/2wide, turgid, black-lore 2'1/2mm wide area around. 1 emb. c-R 30, well haired block. Imm. f 19gms., f. 44 mm.- gray fur. nipples not enlarged. But blood in uterus & red spot R. ovary + vulva mod. pigment. ad. f 1427 CBK - also 1 emb. c-R 2-9, haired.
