C Koford 1 Artibeus jamaicensis & litoratus October 30, 1956 November 2, 1956 Barro Colorado Is. Gnal Zone ♀ 1824 (A.lit.palm.) Took ♀+♂ 1827 in mist net let mr Chopman Home evening. Same net took Glossophaga ♂ (07/1826) by morning. Cve of a lit. poly. Nov. 3-4 took Artibeus jamaicensis, 07/1830, ♀ 1831 in same net in clearing edge clearing Max height 8' above ground. Cve Nov. 2 took 3 about 6:45 within 5 min. after setting up mist net at Snyder Molina I. Took ♂ by about 11 p.m., when took down net because bats smeking it. No other lewis taken here, but smaller bats seen flying sun + a.m. One adult examined was ♀ with wings 3 wide x 4 high, fore- arm 69 long, 67 gms (after in cage 12 hrs.), measuring 97-0-20-23 mm. // I clipped toes from 7 others + re- leased them. Flight low & heavy. One hung up in Georgia immediately. Marks: L R RR scrotal (111) (111) ♀ test. O 70 mm, forearm A.l.p. ♂ 62 mm., A.jj ? ♂ 65 mm. A.l.p. ♀ 63 mm. A.l.p.? ♀ imm. 61mm. vag. imperf. A.j.j. ? ♀ imm. 64 mm. A.l.p.? +111 ♂ 66 test. abd. A.l.p. Imm. dark grey & lacked head stripes; adults checked stripes & brown. Sometimes chip-chip chips when held hard. // Discarded ♂ testis 3 x 3, abdominal; 87-0-17-25, 46 gms. (after in refrig. 1 wks.); dark gray locks with obscure facial stripes; forearm 62 mm. November 10, 1956 Took during night I in mist net at NE end of 1924 Bldg, then in net at SE side of Chopman House.
