Potos flavus
Kinkajou
BC Island, Coral Bay
July 11, 1956. Wilmer said he sometimes saw one in
Acacia or Breadnut tree near Old Delphi house at night.
Potos seen some trees at times. Yesterday Eugene
Eckmann said he also saw one or more Kinkajous
near clearing. Wilmer says about 10 days ago he saw
adult with 2 small young near ZMA house. He said
in April he saw 2 + small young from Pavarra.
December 23, 1956 Saw one in loloa tree just S. of Chap-
man House. Bright near-white eyeshire. Furless long tail.
January 3.2, 1957. In loloa S. of Chapman House saw
one at 9:30 p.m., 20' maput-tree. White eyeshire. Delphi in
same tree earlier.
January 4, 1957 I saw one in loloa S. of Chapman House 9:45
p.m., 30'map.
January 12, 1957. One in same loloa about 8 p.m. In spite
of light went from flower to flower & put head in. A companion
said he heard creaking noise at this time. Eyeshire small &
lights white. Delphi in tree at same time. Jumps from
branch to trunk, about 4 ft.
15 January 1957. Again saw in loloa by Chapman House. Also in
tree 2 Delphis + 1 Colomys. Potos seems to pay no attention to
flashlight beam - goes flower to flower & puts head in.
31 January 1957. As usual one with white chin in loloa S. of
Chapman House about 8 p.m.; Two in almeras N of kitchen, one
hung by hind feet & ate using forepaws. Eyeshire red in one,
white in others!
