Carl Rettenmeier told me that last night he found one fully
killed, skull broken, on trail at junction of New Tyre and
Barbours. Full grown. Possibly cat killed.

August 8, 1956. Carl Rettenmeier noted. Adult at DC
3 under crown fallen tree at 11:45 p.m.
November 20, 1956. Saw one on that cut to Luty about 9:15 a.m.
With two provosts. Walked quickly uphill.
14 January 1956. Near Big Tree No. AUA 8½ saw one sitting
on hind legs atop a log. In fright it fled, rolling slowly.
11 January 1957. Three poachers caught on B.C.I. had appar
ently taken some pacas.
