28 May
Pitmegea - a male, just beginning
to molt on top of head and back
of neck, was shot on the replands
back of camp.
Three other cocks were seen
in the late evening along the creek
cal mi inland from the view.
31 May
Peters-Schwader - a male, just
beginning molt on top of head, was
seen an west side of lake at top of
a fan in rocky area covered with
tall willows. Bobby reports they
are frequently letting patches where
they are feeding heavily on last
years crop of blue berries, ever berries
and even berries.
June
Peters-Schwader Lakes - two males in
white plumage were seen on the west
side of Peters opposite camp - in the
willow area next to the north from the
one in which the ghoikes are resting.
June
Peters-Schwader Lakes - Total of 637
seen - all on the west side of Peters
and high up on the fans and wings
of valley. None seen in Whistler week.
One per square mile would be
a liberal estimate of density. Three
Kills of white plumed birds were found.
