21 May Pitmegea River - Three [illegible] were seen on the first high ground north of the river and across from camp. One appeared to be acting territorial toward the other two.
22 May Pitmegea - one was heard but not seen on the ridge back of camp.
23 May Pitmegea - one [illegible] at base of the snow bank on the long ridge above camp on the vegetit limit.
24 May Pitmegea - 2 males flew across the river below camp.
25 May Pitmegea - about 5 males and one female - latter collected - were seen along the creek that comes in upriver from camp. See notes under L, lagopus. Two males were seen in display flights and the [illegible] shot by me was apparently mated to one of the 5 males as it one stayed in the area where she was shot.
27 May Pitmegea - heard on the ridge back of camp in the early morning flying across
