Cade 1954 Logoprus logoprus 11 June Aniak, Alaska One new m. forty ARL leut at 0230 and a pair was seen west of there about 0300. Several 77 were seen in the afternoon. Courtship and territorial display is conspicuous. 12 June About 6-8 more seen on the riverics series blucker. More seen on the side of the hill, but probably are there, along the bushy creeks. Seem to be about the same number as in 52. 13 June Three or four 77 seen in the river bottom next to oil well. A nest with 7 eggs was found at the base of the hill just where Bearpaws Creek breaks out of the foot hills onto the upper river bunch. It was located in a depression on top of a conspicuous Euciphora hemmack by the side of old weasel trail, about 30-40 feet from the nearest riparian brush. They flew off under my feet and stayed about 30 yds out while I was at rest. Remains of ptarmigan are common all over, as usual. Several kills seen on Chukat Mt. 14 June Several local 77 heard calling in the late evening 21 June Several 77 and a few 99 seen on each day. 30 July -Several groups of 10-15 molting adults seen on the island before Aniak. Perhaps H. bobidin all?
