Ca 2 mi below [illegible] on Colville

reason
Aerie forces N. Tiiviel near by Web. No
prey found. No nest recorded for
these in '62 but falcon very quiet.
4 July
A pair seen on a sandstone talus + cuterop
about 3 mi above camp #4 on left side of
river. Aerie not located but may have been
in an old roughleg nest midway up on top of a
column of sandstone. Falcon very alert & heavily
barred vertically. Saw tiiviel fly in with a
small bird in his beak. Falcon cocked, flew
out to him's under, flipped over and took the
bird from him in her beak. Never seen
this method of transfer before. She flew over
the roughleg nest, started to level, then
spooled up & waved several times, and act of
right. Tiiviel landed on the cliff.
