At the break in the dike at north
end of the dwarfed lake, found some
molted grey feathers and a few castings
-in the area where parents were
deported. 1 casting = 1 hen, 1 kargfew,
1 wed phalacrope, 1 casting = kargfew
Aug (entry) Kupavik River - at White Hills
Kovanda et al. found an aerie
here and took still and moving
pictures of the birds. There were a
well-advanced young in the nest. (Quite
a few ptarmigan in this area)
Jogo River, ca 12 mi. below Jago Lake
Cantlow and Billis found an
aerie in this locality on 31 August.
It held a single - well advanced
fledgling. They got photos of the
young bird and cliff.

A juvenile I was attracted to camp
by my trawler, tiercel, Jago, and I
shot her as she flew over.

A dark juvenile male flew over
camp around 7:00. At first thought it
was Jago, who was but, but their head
was darker and I could see it had no fesses.
