They were quite bold and not at all afraid. Both had cheezy eye lids
as though they were sick or
suffering from some difficiery disease.
I took the largest of the two. In
the nest were remains - wings and
attached to sterna of 17 ptarmigan -
cell bleached and clean except for
metacarpals. One unidentified duck
also. I was around nest about 15 min.
when we first arrived - a little shy
about leaving sheep with us around,
No gyps seen at either of the 1962
sites or the new 1966 site.

Denis #3 at the last right-hand
cliff above Uniat, where peregrines
nested in 1962 & 1966, a large dark
gray 7 was found with a nest
on the upper rock of the cliff ca
200 yds. from rough ledge nest. This
falcon remained in the air cocking
around the nest all the time we
were there but did not dive on us.
Next on a small shale outcrop on a
shale-muck talus ca 100 ft above the
river and 150 feet below the upper
