Aerie #6: pair of light phase birds
on the lower Killek Bluff - Nest 10 ft
below brink of alder brush slope, 4650 ft
above top of a talus and 150 ft above
the water. Four young - oldest with
primaries 6" x tail 4-5" - youngest with
primaries 5" x tail 3". No fresh kills in
nest - pellets collected. Nest about 250 yds
down river from puegvine.
-by bluffs or right limit - first below
Killek - a single adult was seen but
no active nest could be found.
Aerie #7: pair of light phase birds on
the double Knife blade bluff - Nest on the
upriver blade - 25 ft down from the
crop-off at the end of the ridge, 150 ft
sheds drop to the river below. Nest only
about 30 yds from puegvine aerie. Two
young about 3 weeks old. Numerous
of fresh prey in the nests.
On the series of small outcrops on the
right limit below double-Knife, where
rough-legged nested in '62-37, a single
adult F was seen but no active nest
present.
