T. Cade 1957 Clangula hyemalis 3 June John Campbell and I saw a flock of six fly over the beach ridge about- midway out to the Point around 2030. 5 June Several flocks seen along the margin of lakes between Bagoose and the Beaver and flying along the Beaver. Some of these flocks were up to 30 birds at 10. 13 June, Main night, Alcots - pair seen on pond near T3. 18-21 June, Unist - Seen rather commonly air pairs on lakes of the view terrace. Fewer five seen in a mixed group of waterfowl on a lake between T5 & T7 on 21st. 16 July Point Lay One seen on the large lake back of therite, 27-30 July Pitt Parent A few scattered pairs seen on ponds and along the river. Beet decidedly not common in this area. Aug (entry) Jago Lake Sable said he had seen a few pairs of these ducks earlier in the year on various lakes in the Jago valley. 19 August Jago Lake - one seen in the evening on "Upper Lake" It would not fly when I threw rocks at it - escaped by diving instead.
