Pteropus P. fulvidi. One shot by Van at Lochubi (in Hardwood). Four in Mangroves (by day) at Pallett Road. One on Hardwood flowers at Binn's Creek. Remains of foraged species at Wallock (poisoned parrots) P. conspicillatus. Common in various "carps" on Athelina Tableland. One or more (dead) a few miles north of Caima. One shot at Tea tree flowers at Peach River. No embryo. P. Scapulatus. Two on Hardwoods at Byfield, n.e. of Rockhampton. Readily looks at light; spreads wings under light as display (seemingly). This species possibly in a carp at Wallock (described as "brown" flying foxes). Very abundant at Wallock. Sexes apparently join to separate feeding trees. A number shot. One shot near Peach Creek. One shot by day, roosting in "open forest" on road from Coor to Black R. Another seen. A carp scattered along the Ham River: shot 5. Many long singy. Tea trees full of them at night. One shot at night at Stipton's Hut feeding on flowers of Serian for days camp at Amar Falls, 3 mi from Helovale. P. poliocephalus. What seems to be this species shot at Tea tree flowers or Peach River - all females - all pregnant roost at term. Does this southern species spend the Australian winter this far north & return to S.E. Q + N.S.W. When warmer weather starts then?
