22 Tochyplossus aculeatus. None found at "rip", though it exists there. One at km Rage, found by "try". Deep in 2-way tole breath to huge rainforest tree by edge of dry gully. Dolsonia magna. One shot by Van out of a bloodwood in flower, behind his home at 9 km Rage. The eyes stored well. A second shot by Ned Reinwell with .22 on low tree in scrubby Heath (N.T.) 4 mile east of km Rage. One (?) seen by Van + Ned in room of abandoned dwelling 5 miles S. of km Rage. Not certainly identified; not collected. One shot at dusk missed (a black fruit bat with [illegible] eyes) at Burrows Creek. (This was probably Pteropus Gouldii, as one which flowed similarly was shot a little late). Two seen (only one collected) in the Wilson River timber at Coen. Two shot at Peck River feeding on Tea tree flowers. Nyctimia Hides in scrub, though timber roads; its eyes shine brilliantly. Saw second at Lockhartie. They seem attracted by light. At Patterd Roads and flew into our lights & settled on my chest. It fluttered to Van & then down into the grass when we captured it. This took place in "gun forest". Seen but not taken at upper Nestor R & Peck R. Mt. Finnigan. 1800 ft
