Mon. Sep 27 Bats out by Van: - 1 Settern 3 Macrophyllae at flowers of Century Plant (Siard). Out after native when - 2 found under falls from stems in middle & red-earth peanut field. Should originally in open forest. With in traps Back to Corteza by noon. Saw Dr. Fod top up m a.m., plane for Cairns Did some packing for ship journey. Tues. Sep-28. Finished packing. Cargo down to boat in a.m. We formed board tonight. Due to said early Wed. a.m., as amir Cairns bed are. Wrote out schedule for RR trip - Cairns or ward. Wed. Sep. 29. Lyn. 5 a.m. Stopped at Blinfield R to take in Lady Bissett, wife of ex-commander of the "Queen Mary". Stopped at Daintree for lunch. Reached Cairns 4 p.m. Thur. Sep.30- Fri Oct 1 Sat Oct 2 Baggage repacked. I terminated my enrolment with Birchfield Exped. and over-night Oct 2. Then went down to the warehouse & bridled cattle all morning. Recommendation Trip re-count by overnight visit to Barwon Waters (trapping) six days. Above accepted Not accompanying Mr. Gallup of "Oam Roads" on study if Windsor Tattler. To start Monday p.m. George Brookes drove me out to stay with Bob Hunter at Barwon Waters. Set 21st at 7 a.m. + 22 next day.
