of the "Trip" 14 Fallow comprises for certain Species: monotremes, 1; Marsupials, 8; rodents, 6. These are divided between rain forest & open forest habitats as follows:- Plain Rain forest Open forest. Monotremes: Chiff Tachypleus Antechinus Marsupials Satanellus Isoodon Acrotates Petamno ? Of the "rain forest" group all but Thylacole and Hydromys find their nearest relatives in New Guinea. Of the "open forest" group Satanellus is the Australian representative of a New Guinean genus, but the art-fam'd which it belongs in Australia. All others of this list are Australian. Hydromys is common to both Australia and New Guinea but the 3 forms were the Hydromyces are confined to New Build. Thylacole with three Australian species one being in New Guinean may be held to be chiefly Australian. Tachypleus is chiefly Australian, or penetrating it south New Guinea. I am not wholly convinced that it should be classed as a "sacrificed" animal
