1948. Wed. May 12. This morning hunt for foxes thus possibly contain's dens - out to Lake. Old dens, and sup: Lake Heavily forested mayi denex Its lake to SE. Due is so time outlet but seepage occurs thl in sandy plain. No rat. Yesterday sat henty with Van in a.m. Shiftin some trips. Jacky at night. Dick Holland arrived in his truck. He + Van were jacking for 3 hours. No results. Thu. May 13. Nothing in town. Morton shot a Thylacule. Trip to Somerset, At Somerset we saw the old Jardine residence - abandoned now for at least 6 years. Also saw Jardines Gran - just behind the beach in the valley. Dark nearly do bats, Hippopitodus eurinus, including the red place, in the ceilinged living room. Allby John, across Allby Pass (1 mile wide?). Looked attractions. Bath at cup about 5 p.m., after stopping to examine both Lake Prowto and Lake Wickcura. → Returned in a.m. to Lockenbie. Sat. May 15. Sent Van to work the saw mill some - 2 miles nw of Lockenbie. Sun. May 16 Mon. Day 17.} Jardine River. Tues, May 18. Left Lockenbie at 7.30.
